Madeline Landry is the heiress of Landry Park, the richest estate in the country, which has been in her family for generations. However, as she starts to doubt her father, she meets David Dana, who is more than meets the eye.
I thought this book was extremely well written. It was impressive that Bethany Hagen managed to make this novel stand out in a sea of dystopian YA fiction. Although it is dystopia, Hagen adds a complexity to her characters, and she keeps the reader entertained and curious. This book was a fascinating read, but I wish that the author would have developed a little more plot in the middle of the book. It got a little dry at times, but everything else was un-put-down-able!
Recommended for: Readers ages 13-16 and fans of The Luxe series by Anna Godbersen would especially love this book. However, any age would still find this book interesting.
