Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco is a dark and captivating fantasy book that follows the story of Emilia, a young witch who seeks to unravel the mystery behind her twin sister's murder. Set in a lush, atmospheric Sicilian village, Emilia discovers herself entangled with a powerful demon prince, Wrath, as they join forces to solve the murder and confront a dangerous secret society of witches. Filled with elements of romance, magic, and a suspenseful plot, the book dives into themes of love, revenge, and the blurred lines between good and evil in a richly imagined world of magic and intrigue.

The most compelling aspect of the book, according to many readers, seems to be the richly atmospheric setting and world-building. The author has a talent for giving you the sense of the lush and darkly magical landscape of Sicily, which adds depth to the story. Additionally, the dynamic between the main characters, Emilia and Wrath, had a lot of complexity. It made the  plot very intriguing. The only disappointment I had with this book was the pacing. The pacing felt very off in some place and a little too slow. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy atmospheric and very unique settings, as well as those who appreciate a mix of fantasy, romance, and mystery in their novels. If you're a fan of Kerri Maniscalco's previous works or enjoy stories involving witches and the supernatural, you should read this book.
