Illuminae follows Kady Grant and Ezra Mason, two teenagers living on the planet Kerenza in the year 2575. They broke up the day before a fleet of BeiTech ships attack their planet, where they are forced into three different ships; the Alexander (where Ezra ends up), the Hypatia (where Kady ends up), and the Copernicus. The Alexander is damaged and unable to make a wormhole gate, meaning the three ships have to travel six months to the nearest jump station, the Heimdall. In close pursuit by BeiTech destroyer Lincoln, the three ships are tasked with trying to make it to the jump station before the BeiTech ship catches up to them. With an out-of-control artificial intelligence system controlling the ships, a killer alien disease, and complete chaos on the ships, Kady and Ezra must fight their way towards safety and destroy the BeiTech cruiser once and for all.

I thought that this book was one of the best books I have ever read. The way the book was narrated was very interesting as it was told as a series of documents, which leave out details and make the story more interesting. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys suspenseful and thrilling novels. I did not have any problems with the book and it made me want to read the next book in the series.

Cover: I thought that the cover was good, as it had interesting quotes and messages that intrigued me. Rating: 5/5
