Icebreaker is a college sports romance that is about Anastasia Allen, a figure skater who has been working her whole life to make it to the Olympics. She’s focused on her goals, has strict control over her life and doesn’t want any distractions. Anastasia struggles with trust and vulnerability because of a toxic relationship with her coach and the pressure to perform. But, then enters Nathan Hawkins, the captain of the college’s hockey team. Nate is outgoing, confident and loved by everyone. An accident forces both the hockey and figure skating teams to share the same rink, and Anastasia and Nathan are forced to meet. At first, there’s tension between the two- Anastasia hates the disruption of her training time, and Nathan seems amused by her. As they spend more time together, the romance builds and they begin to fall for each other.

I loved reading this book because it is more than your average college romance- it’s a feel-good, emotional novel that blends cute banter, tension and character development. I love how the author creates realistic characters who feel like people you could actually meet on a college campus. The chemistry between the two characters is electric, but also doesn’t feel rushed. The tension also builds up slowly, so readers can really enjoy every part of the story. I also love how the book talks about mental health, which is a very important issue. Overall, this is a beautiful story that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance books and realistic fiction because it is an amazing combination of the two
