In the fictional town of Lost, Alaska there were two best friends named Kyra and Corey.  When Corey has to move as Kyra is diagnosed with bipolar, she makes Kyra promise to stay strong in a town that does not accept her. When Corey gets the news that Kyra drowned in an icy lake, she is shattered. The book follows Corey’s journey of finding out what happened in Lost after she left, and why the town says her death was “meant to be”.

Personally, I thought this book was pretty well written. I thought the author could work on characterization, since none of the characters had much of a personality other than the main characters, one of whom is dead. You could argue that that is the point, but there could still be some characterization here. This book is ideal for mystery and paranormal lovers, although there is more mystery than paranormal. The plot was pretty slow for the majority of the book, since it alternates between the past and present. There are also some parts that are written like it’s a play, which enhances the writing style. There was also some confusion and loose ends towards the end of the story. Overall, the book was good but it could have been better.
