Summary: Hotel Rwanda is a movie about what happened in the Rwandan genocides back in 1994. This movie aims to bring those events to life on the big screen so that people will be able to know what happened in Rwanda during those times. The conflict was between two different groups, the Hutus and Tutsis. These two groups despise each other because of their physical differences and power inside of the government. Paul Rusesabagina is the main character and he is a Hutu. His wife though is a Tutsi and before the genocide this was normal. But, there started to be mass outbreaks of crime and violence between the groups and we see that mass amounts of Hutus start to kill Tutsis. This can all be attributed to power inside of the government. When all of this is going on Paul owns a hotel called Hotel Rwanda and this is a new safe haven to get away from all the chaos and trouble going on in the streets. Paul tries to save as many people as he can regardless of Hutu or Tutsi status and we see when it is all over Paul saved so many lives with his hotel and with the help of the UN peacekeeping.

Opinion: I would give this movie 5 out of 5 stars for many different reasons. I really like how much action goes on inside the movie. Yes, there are some scenes that might be a little too graphic but overall it is the right amount of action for me. I really like the character development and just the acting overall in this movie. You can really see the preparation that was done ahead of time and the execution is near perfect. I think I liked how much I learned from watching this movie as I had not done any prior research about this genocide before. Overall, I really did love this movie a lot and if you are a history person this should be a must-watch on your list.
