Beyah is a teeneager forced to spend the summer at her—absent through most of her life—dad’s beach house, with his new family. She is not the most excited because she lived a poverty filled life, much different than her dad’s and her new step sisters. She feels out of place, especially around the guy who really caught her eye, Samson. As they spend more time together, their emotional connection grows and grows. But something is holding them back, and on top of that, their relationship is built on secrets. I, simply put, loved this book. It is a relatable book for teenagers. Hoover not only keeps you wanting more, and on the edge of your seat, but touches on the struggles of life. She does a fantastic job at bringing together two completely different backgrounds of people. I loved how she also gave the book an extra touch with the sense of humor between Beyah and Samson. This is an adorable summer romance book that is an easy read!
