This novel takes place on an isolated island, known as The Folly, which is dark and gloomy and ironically the wedding destination for the picture-perfect couple, Jules and Will. Jules is the author of an online magazine and Will stars in a survival show on T.V. They appear to be the dream couple, but unknown to all the guests, a lot of secrets and lies hide within their relationship. The couple’s family and friends also get caught up with their own twisted secrets of their own, and the unraveling of it all throughout the wedding is what makes this story so riveting.

Throughout the book, themes of death are reflected and the readers are kept at the edge of their seats. I especially liked how the author switched timelines in the middle of the story and foreshadowed the ending in between. It made me want to finish the book and quickly get to the end already. In addition, every individual character’s background story really allowed the readers to connect with the characters. The switching of the perspectives between characters is an example of how the author did an excellent job of allowing the reader to feel each and every character’s emotion, including every ounce of fear, admiration, disappointment, and most imporantly, anger. This book was amazing. The end of the book was the best part as there were so many plot twists and the ending was perfect, tying everything that had happened so far back together. I would highly recommend this book and I suggest that readers over the age of 15 read it. It is a great thriller and mystery and is a perfect for all readers of all different genres.
