Fish in a Tree is a fictional novel written by Lynda Mullaly Hunt. This book is
about a girl named Ally with dyslexia who struggles in school. Her friends, Albert
and Kiesha help her in this situation and succeed with her. Even though her
teachers and others try to help, her mind is different, so her friends help her. She
wished she could be normal and can read like others, and wished she wouldn't
have to go through so much humiliation to hide this fact. She can’t read as she
feels as if the letters are dancing. She agrees to have a study session with her
temporary teacher after school. He helps her succeed as well as her friends to
help her become more confident, and believe in herself through all of this. She
understands everyone is different and can achieve different things at a different
speed and level. She believes in herself, and tries to achieve what she could not
earlier.

The most complete aspect was when she was afraid of her identity, and she
tried to hide it. Which was upsetting since she was ashamed of herself and her
situation. I was disappointed when she tried to rebel when someone was trying to
tell her about this situation. This was since I thought she should believe in others
to help her try to get through. This book inspired me to think and feel about what
you can achieve with an excellent support system. I would recommend this book
to anyone who wants to know what happens behind success, which is hard work
and confidence.
