Hugo Wilkinson just got dumped right before the trip he was supposed to take with his now ex-girlfriend. He would go alone (in fact, he would prefer to go alone, being a sextuplet has its downfalls, after all) if only his train tickets weren’t in his ex's name. Obviously, the only solution is to find another Margaret Campbell to accompany him across the United States.

Mae Campbell just got rejected from the film school of her dreams, and she has no idea why. I mean, sure, she did get into USC. But all Mae really wants is to study film at USC, nothing else. With the encouragement of her Nana, Mae decides to take a chance and reply to Hugo’s search for a Margaret Campbell. As Nana says, anything can happen on a train.

I love this book. I have read this book three times already. I'm a sucker for an almost implausible meet cute, and Smith delivers in this novel. Mae and Hugo are the cutest together, too. Their cross-country train adventure nearly had me searching for train tickets. Literally, no aspect of this book disappointed me. It’s fun, lighthearted, and easy enough to read in an afternoon. I give this book a rating of five out of five train rides :)
