Noa's life has been looking up. She ran away from the foster care system that failed her, set up a fake foster care family using her amazing hacker abilities, and has been working odd jobs to stay afloat. But that all changes when Noa wakes up on a cold metal table in an abandoned warehouse with a mysterious incision in her chest. Noa barely manages to escape the men in black suits who pursue her out of the warehouse and through the back alleys of Boston's southside.

Meanwhile, Peter, home alone in his parent's McMansion while they attend another fundraiser, rummages through his father's desk for something interesting to read. He finds a secret case file marked Project Persephone. However, Peter can't find out much more as Mason and his band of black suit wearing thugs knock in his front door and threaten him. Peter, not taking the treat seriously tries to discover more about Project Persephone the next day at the public library and Mason is there to make him regret it. Who are these guys and how do they keep finding him?

Noa and Peter's stories are intertwined as they become allies through /ALLIANCE/ the hactivist website Peter created. Turns out the black suits who operated on Noa in the warehouse and the guys trying to throw Peter off the scent are one and the same. The two team up to discover who is in charge of Project Persephone, and what experiments they are forcing on runaway teens.

Don't Turn Around was sold to me as The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo for teens and that is an apt description. I read this book in less than forty-eight hours and loved it! The suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat! There are more books coming out the PERSEFoNE series, so keep an eye on this! Sadly, that also means it ends in a bit of a cliffhanger...
