Descendant of the Crane

In this book Hesina, the princess, takes the throne and immediately begins investigating her fathers death, believing him to have been murdered. She enlists the help of a convict who is much more than he seems. Hesina also learns who can be trusted and who can't be, and those who betray her are not who you would expect

I thought the cover was gorgeous. Honestly when I picked it up I figured Hesina would be travelling outside her kingdom to seek out the truth behind her fathers death, but the entire time she stayed in the palace. But I do like the crane on the cover. I think that specific design represents the book very well.

The most compelling aspect has to be the story. The story and the characters were so intriguing to read about. This book does leave you with a bit of a cliff hanger. I think there will be a sequel.
