The Deepest Lake is a suspenseful thriller written by Andromeda Romano-Lax. This book follows the story of Rose, a grieving mother whose daughter just drowned while at a writing workshop in Guatemala. After the search for her daughter's body ended early, Rose signs up for the workshop herself and heads to Guatemala to find answers. As the workshop goes on, Rose begins to find clues that can help her find out what happened to her daughter. Every time she gets closer to the answer, the workshop's host, Eva, always finds a way to stop her. As we follow Rose's adventure we also get a flashbacks from the daughters perspective. The book ends with the biggest plot twist that will leave you shocked and questioning everything.
I thought that this book was amazing because of the characters. They were all deeply crafted and I think every character went through a change that we as the reader did not see coming. The plot was well thought out with no gaps or holes, and the book was so exciting and hard to put down. I think anyone who loves a good thriller book would absolutely love this book.
