Everyone wants to be Daisy Jones. She has it all — talent, beauty, charisma. Meanwhile, Billy Dunne’s band, The Six, are so close to fame — they just need something extraordinary to push them across the threshold. That something extraordinary, a producer realizes, is Daisy Jones. Nobody knows what it is, but when they’re all together, they make magic. Their first album, Aurora, rocks the country, propelling them to the top of the music scene. But behind the curtain, nothing is as it seems. Years later, they’re finally ready to tell the story of the rise and fall of the band that defined the late 70s.

I really enjoyed this book! The writing was so vulnerable and raw, yet somehow the author was able to make it exhilarating and daring at the same time. The author’s handling of pace was masterful, and I especially loved the interview format of the novel, as it allows the reader to see different perspectives while avoiding the disjointedness that often accompanies books that alternate between viewpoints. The story was so immersive that it blurred the lines between fiction and nonfiction, and the characters were so flawed and so human that they could easily have been real people. Overall, this was a great read, and I would definitely recommend it!
