Crave is a supernatural young adult romance novel that follows Grace, a girl who recently lost her parents in a mysterious car crash, as she moves into her new home, Katmere Academy in Alaska. As she settles in, she finds that things around her are suspicious, and no one answers her questions. To distract herself, Grace dives deep into a relationship with the most distant boy in school, Jaxon Vega. As Grace’s life spirals out of control towards the end of the book, she decides that she can only trust herself and herself only, as she fights for her life.
My favorite part of the book is when Grace and her cousin, Macy, are getting ready for Grace’s welcome party. They are forming a relationship that I love watching grow. I would recommend this book to 8th or 9th graders who love romance and a little supernatural, and are also ok with a little gore (there is a possible human sacrifice at the end of the book).
