A Court Of Silver Flames by Sarah J Mass is a slow-paced romantasy book that follows Nesta and Cassian as they navigate a post-war world and all the traumas that come with it. As Nesta is in a spiral of self-deprivation as she is coming with post-war life, her family becomes tired of her ways instructing her to train with the man who makes her blood-boil more in the anyone, Cassian. Though the blood-boiling may mean more than anger, their attraction to each other is undeniable as they become closer.

Set upon the time of another possible war and a pregnancy that leaves everyone rattled, A Court Of Silver Flames doesn’t disappoint fans of the New York Times Bestselling series. Honestly, this book is hard to review. I had to at points force myself to read this book, not only because it’s third person but because parts felt like it was unconnected from the other books in this series. If you’ve read the other books in this series, I would 100% tell you to read this book just because the author has said she plans to write more but also because it does add to the world already written. If you’re only reading the series for Feyre and Rhys then I wouldn’t recommend this book. It is a long and grueling read, the best part of the book is the last 200 pages, it was twist-filled and felt a lot more like the other books in the series rather than an almost stand-alone book. I give this book 3 out of 5 stars because it did honestly put me in a book slump but the last 200 pages were so good and well written, it’s hard to look over that. I almost wish this book was a novella and not a full over 700 page book.
