The Blood of Olympus is the fifth and final book in the Heroes of Olympus series and is written by Rick Riordan. All of Gaea’s giants have been woken up and they’re all stronger than ever. As the demigods race to stop them from waking Gaea up, they also must deal with visions of war between Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter. The seven demigods must be careful and plan out their actions, or else the world will be destroyed. This is the big finale to the Heroes of Olympus series, and as such many readers will have placed huge expectations on this book.

With that in mind, I think it’s safe to say that this book gives a satisfying conclusion to a series that’s had some amazing moments. The humor in this book is great and Riordan manages to give each character enough time in the spotlight to end their story fittingly. That’s a big issue that most authors would struggle with, but Riordan manages to conclude each character’s arc with satisfaction. The action and tension are very well thought out, and there are some dramatic moments that will make you gasp. There’s a part in the end that will leave the readers sad, but the conclusion and last page will leave readers grinning from ear to ear. Overall, it’s a very solid book and a very fitting conclusion to this epic series that Riordan has created.
