In the Ballroom with the Candlestick is the final book of the Clue Mystery trio. It picks up a little after the events inside In the Study with the Wrench with the Murder Crew at a now almost abandoned Blackbrook Academy. Following a series of murders from the previous books has driven most of the students away, and you are left with an closed circle mystery involving a small group of students composed of both victims and suspects. The book does a great job of building on characters we have met before and involving them into the overall mystery surrounding a previous student of Blackbrook and the history around it. Peterfreund's movement through perspectives pays off at the end and almost all of the characters get satisfying conclusions to their individual predicaments. Overall, a book I finished in a single day. It definitely sucks you into their world.
