The novel Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen is a heartwarming story about finding yourself with a little bit of romance. This novel follows the story of a girl named Auden. When Auden was little her parents got divorced and she lived with her mom. Since her mom was a Professor, Auden spent her entire high school life with no social life but one summer that changed. When she got a letter from her brother, who travels the world, she realized that she never experienced anything, so she decided to visit her dad and live with him and her stepmother for the summer and that is where it all starts. Throughout the book we see how she feels, the friends she makes, and the people she meets.
I loved the story because the character development was really clear, and I loved all of the characters that got introduced throughout the book. The plot itself was very entertaining and often made me laugh. I also loved the author's writing style because it was very descriptive and allowed me to feel like I was actually there in the story. I would recommend this book to people who like books about self-discovery and trying new things with a little bit of romance.
