Who Was Sally Ride? tells the story of the first American woman to go into space. It starts with her childhood in California, where she loved science, playing sports, and learning. As she grew up, she studied physics in college and later joined NASA to become an astronaut. In 1983, Sally made history by flying on the space shuttle Challenger. She became a role model for girls everywhere. The book also talks about the challenges she faced working in a mostly male field, her life after space travel, and how she helped young people especially girls get excited about science and math. It shows how smart, strong, and curious she was.

This is a great book for kids who like space, science, or learning about real-life heroes. Sally Ride’s story is inspiring it shows that with hard work and curiosity, you can achieve big things. The book teaches kids to follow their dreams, believe in themselves, and not be afraid to try something new. It’s a fun and powerful read for young readers. Three out of five stars.
