Lord of the Flies by William Golding is a novel about a group of boys stranded on an unknown island. They elect their leader and are forced to create a new society without any parental guidance, which turns out to be a complete failure. Bumps in society lead to violence and lots of drama; kids mysteriously disappear or perish. The kids are stuck with finding a way to escape the island, with no help but each other.
I rate this book a 4 out of 5. The creativity and originality of the novel are incredible. There are also multiple life lessons and characteristics throughout the book. (Individuality, dependence, teamwork, etc.) This book is great for kids in middle school since the kids in the book itself are just around the same age.
