Lonely Life

By: Alyssa Rydell

How many times must we say goodbye?
Too many long and drawn out mornings without you.
After sunrise, I have no one to wake,
No one beside me,
No one to shake.
Hundreds of times we have had to say goodbye,
Too many long and boring days without you.
I am alone in my car,
With an empty seat beside me.
I know that without you, I am not going far.
Again, we must say goodbye.
Too many long and confusing nights without you.
I fall asleep in my own bed,
Without your gorgeous body curled up next to me.
I close my eyes and think of every time you have said,
“I love you,” in your sweet and innocent childish voice.
