Catching Fire, the second book in Suzanne Collins's bestselling Hunger Games series, was even better than its predecessor. After the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss's life is in more danger than ever before. Uprisings are beginning to emerge in the districts, and it's all because of some berries. As things become tenser, the existing love triangle becomes more apparent.

Suzanne Collins’ YA dystopian novel, The Hunger Games, is absolutely perfect. Panem, future ruins of North America, is ruled by the rich in the Capitol and split into twelve districts. Each year, two tributes of ages ranging from twelve to eighteen years old, from each district are forced to compete in a deadly competition known as the Hunger Games.

This next installment in The Hunger Games series follows now 17-year-old Katniss Everdeen as she struggles with the aftermath of her victory in the 74th Hunger Games. The foundations of this mighty and cruel country shake as districts prepare to revolt, apparently encouraged by Katniss’s stunt with the berries that led to her victory. A personal visit from President Snow frightens Katniss, and she must decide if she wants to try to stop the uprisings or join them.

The book follows the life of 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives in poverty in a dystopian country called Panem, governed by the rich and cruel Capitol. She, along with a boy Peeta whom she kind of knows, is selected to compete in the Hunger Games, a life-or-death battle between twenty-three other teenagers where only one can survive. Katniss must balance surviving the Games and determining the seemingly endless limits of the Capitol’s cruelty, all while maintaining a relationship with Peeta that may or may not even exist.
