Stress and Comfort

By: Melanie Leng

Sometimes, when the soft spring rain
slowly soaks the earth,
And lightly fingers everything,
Giving it a coat of droplets,
The color of everything begins to fade...
It darkens out the colors
And smooths out texture.
It creates a soft scene,
And when I stare up at the grayish-white sky,
The clouds seem to caress my head
While I rest near the windowsill
As the rain renews my mind
Like it cleanses the roads and trees,
And gives everything a tranquil tone.
