Welcome To Storytime!   [tune: “Twinkle, Twinkle]

Welcome, welcome everyone,
Now we're here, let's have some fun.
First we'll sing the ABC's,
then we'll read and sing with me.
Welcome, welcome, everyone,
Now we're here let's have some fun.

Winter Fun [Tune: If Your Happy and You Know It]

If you’ve heard that its winter, clap your hands.
If you’ve heard that its winter, clap your hands.
If you like the chilly weather, pull on mittens and a sweater,
If you like the chilly weather, clap your hands.
If you like to sled down hills, jump up and down,
If you like to sled down hills, jump up and down,
If you’ve felt your nose go cold, ;cause you forgot a scarf , like you were told,
If you like to sled down hills, jump up and down.
If your mom has baked some cookies, rub your tummy.
If your mom has baked some cookies, rub your tummy.
Smell the cookies as they cool, it might even make you drool.
Smell the cookies as they cool, and rub your tummy.

Winter Pokey

You put your right mitten in, You take your right mitten out.
You put your right mitten in, And you shake it all about.
You do the winter pokey, [shiver]
And you turn yourself around. That's what it's all about!

Others Include: You put your left mitten in.... You put your right boot.... You put your left boot.... You put your winter hat in.... You put your snowsuit (whole body) in....

Snowflakes [Tune: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star]

Snowflakes, snowflakes, dance around.
Snowflakes, snowflakes, touch the ground.
Snowflakes, snowflakes, in the air.
Snowflakes, snowflakes, eveywhere.
Snowflakes, snowflakes, dance around.
Snowflakes, snowflakes, touch the ground.

Snowflakes, One by One

One little snowflake with nothing to do, along came another, and then there were two.
Two little snowflakes, playing in a tree Along came another, and then there were three.
Three little snowflakes, looking for some more, Along came another, and then there were four.
Four little snowflakes that finally did arrive, Along came another, and then there were five.
Five little snowflakes, having so much fun, Out came the sun and then there were none.

Snowflakes Falling [Tune: Mary Had a Little Lamb]

Snowflakes falling from the sky, from the sky, from the sky.
Snowflakes falling from the sky, to the earth below.
Watch them as they dance and whirl, dance and whirl, dance and whirl,
Watch them as they dance and whirl, Soft, white winter snow.

Groundhog’s Song [tune:"Bear went over the mountain"]

The days were growing warmer, [repeat 3 times]
If felt so good to me. So, I went out of my burrow [repeat 3 times]
To see what I could see. A great big scary shadow, [repeat 3 times]
was all that I could see. I ran back to my burrow, [repeat 3 times]
Where I could safely be. For six more weeks, I’ll stay here, [repeat 3 times]
I’ll come out when its spring.

The More We Read Together    [Tune:  “The More We Get Together]

The more we read together, together, together,
The more we read together, the better it is!
'Cause reading and singing and talking together,
Is how you learn the six skills for reading by six.
