1. HAVE FUN WITH BOOKS
Here are the books we read at storytime:
Welcome To Storytime! [tune: “Twinkle, Twinkle” ]
Welcome, welcome everyone,
Now we're here, let's have some fun.
First we'll sing the ABC's,
then we'll read and sing with me.
Welcome, welcome, everyone,
Now we're here let's have some fun.

Polar Bear Family by Eileen Spinelli
Polar Bear mama moves with grace.
To find a sheltered winter place.
She digs a snow cave wide and deep,
Where she and baby cubs can sleep.
Come spring, the cubs set out for fun.
They romp all day in the arctic sun.
They slip and slide. They race and roam.
Then, weary, ride their mama home.
Penguins [Tune: I'm a Little Tea pot]
I'm a little penguin, black and white.
I think the cold is very nice.
I can hop around First once, then twice.
I also think that ice is nice.
Penguin Song [Tune: My Bonny]
The penguin slides over the ice bank,
The penguin jumps into the sea,
Look at his black and white feathers,
That penguin's as cute as can be.
One royal penguin, feeling very blue. [Hold up 1 finger and wipe at eyes]
Called for his brother, then there were two. [Cup hand to mouth, hold up 2 fingers]
Two royal penguins, swimming in the sea [Make swimming motions]
Called for their sister, then there were three. [Hold up 3 fingers]
Three royal penguins waddle on the shore. [Waddle from foot to foot]
Call for their mother, now there are four. [Four fingers]
Four royal penguins learning how to dive. [Make diving motions]
Call for their father, then there are five. [Hold up five fingers]
I'm a Little Penquin [tune: I'm a Little Teapot]
I'm a little penguin in the snow. I slide on my tummy to and fro.
I eat the fish from the deep blue sea. I'm black and white, just look at me.
The Polar Bear [tune: My Bonnie]
The polar bear lives in the Arctic, He never gets cold in a storm,
He swims in the icy cold water, His heavy coat keeps him quite warm.
Warm, warm, warm, warm, His heavy coat keeps him warm.
Warm, warm, warm, warm, His heavy coat keeps him quite warm!
Polar Bears [tune: Mary had a Little Lamb]
Polar bears are soft and white, soft and white,
Polar bears are soft and white, and live where it is cold.
The More We Read Together [Tune: “The More We Get Together” ]
The more we read together, together, together,
The more we read together, the better it is!
'Cause reading and singing and talking together,
Is how you learn the six skills for reading by six.
