Welcome To Storytime!   [tune: Twinkle, Twinkle]

Welcome, welcome everyone,
Now we're here, let's have some fun.
First we'll sing the ABC's,
then we'll read and sing with me.
Welcome, welcome, everyone,
Now we're here let's have some fun.

My Garden

This is my garden, I've raked it with care.
And planted my tiny brown flower seed there.
I patted the earth and smoothed over the bed,
While the warm yellow sun shone high overhead.
Soon raindrops come pattering over the ground
And warm spring winds blew with a soft gentle sound.
The little seeds woke and pushed up toward the light,
Up, up they grew slowly, by day and by night.
And now, see my garden, so lovely and gay,
With all the flowers that blossomed today.

Over in the Garden [tune: "Over in the Meadow" ]

Over in the garden with a rake and a hoe,
I'll plant some little seeds in a nice straight row.
"Grow," I will say.  "Please grow all day long."
And the little seeds will grow
into plants big and strong.

Garden Planting Time [tune: "Row, Row, Row Your Boat"]

Dig, dig, dig the earth  (make digging motions)
Then you plant your seeds. (pretend to plant seeds)
A gentle rain  (flutter fingers down)
And bright sunshine  (circle arms above head)
Will help your flowers grow.  (Hold one arm parallel to ground and move other arm up
behind it with fingers extended to represent a flower growing.)

The More We Read Together    [Tune: The More We Get Together]

The more we read together, together, together,
The more we read together, the better it is!
'Cause reading and singing and talking together,
Is how you learn the six skills for reading by six.
