Welcome To Storytime!   [tune: Twinkle, Twinkle]

Welcome, welcome everyone,
Now we're here, let's have some fun.
First we'll sing the ABC's,
then we'll read and sing with me.
Welcome, welcome, everyone,
Now we're here let's have some fun.

Let's Go See Our Grandparents [tune:Take Me Out to the Ball Game]

Let's go see our grandparents, Take us there for a while.
Mommy and Daddy both need a break.
We'll play games and we'll stay up real late!
Oh, we want to thank our grandparents
For all the things that they do, So it's time .. to... say you're the best, and that we love you!

My Grandma Likes [Tune:Wheels on the Bus]

My Grandma likes to bounce me up and down.
Up and down, up and down.
My grandma likes to bounce me up and down, because she loves me so.
My Grandpa likes to swing me side to side. side to side, side to side.
My grandpa likes to swing me side to side, because he loves me so.
My grandma likes to give me great big hugs. great big hugs, great big hugs.
My grandpa likes to give me great big hugs because she loves me so.

Grandma and Grandpa

Here are Grandma's glasses, (Make little circles with fingers over eyes to resemble glasses.)
Here is Grandma's hat, (Circle head and pretend to be tying ribbon underneath chin.)
This is the way she folds Her hands and puts them in her lap. (Fold hands sweetly on lap.)
Here are Grandpa's glasses (Make circles bigger than grandma's.)
Here is Grandpa's hat (Make a big hat overhead with hands and arms.)
This is the way he folds His arms and sits like that (Fold arms across chest, lean back in chair and cross one knee over other.)

4 Grandbabies

4 little grandbabies lying in a bed, crying and crying to be fed.
Along come the grandma, a bottle in her hand. Leaves 3 more grandbabies to be fed.
3 little grandbabies lying in a bed....
2 little grandbabies lying in a bed...
1 little grandbaby lying in a bed...
1 tired grandma waving out the door, blowing kisses home to her grandbabies 4.

Are You Sleeping? [Tune:Frère Jacques]

Are you sleeping, are you sleeping,
Grandpa John, Grandpa John,
Grandma Margaret calls you,
Grandma Margaret calls you,
To wake up, to wake up.

My Grandparents' House [tune of "Mary Had a Little Lamb"]

I am going to my grandparents' house,
My grandparents' house, my grandparents' house.
I am going to my grandparents' house, We'll have lots of fun.
Grandma likes to bake with me. Bake with me, bake with me.
Grandma likes to bake with me. We'll make cookies -- wait and see.
Grandpa will read books to me, Books to me, books to me.
Grandpa will read books to me -- Or maybe I'll read to him!
They'll both play a game with me, Game with me, game with me.
They'll both play a game with me. I wonder who will win.
They'll hug me tight before I go, Before I go, before I go.
They'll hug me tight before I go, And say, "We love you so."

Jumping on the Bed

3 little grandkids jumping on the bed,
One fell off and bumped his head.
Grandma called the doctor and the doctor said:
"No more grandkids jumping on the bed!"

2 little grandkids...
1 little grandkid...
No more grandkids jumping on the bed!

The More We Read Together    [Tune:  “The More We Get Together” ]

The more we read together, together, together,
The more we read together, the better it is!
'Cause reading and singing and talking together,
Is how you learn the six skills for reading by six.
