Research Resource

FamilySearch.org

Developed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the FamilySearch website offers publicly searchable collections of records for genealogy research. The site contains more than 4 billion records to search, plus many images of historical records.

Users have the option to create personal FamilySearch account free of charge for expanded access to the site. Please note that even with a personal account, many records are searchable, but access to view certain collections is limited. Learn more about access limitations and restriction types. While Johnson County Library is not a FamilySearch Affiliate Library at this time, the FamilySearch website does freely provide access to many of its collections.
