About this issue

This issue of elementia is dedicated to the theme of The Unknown, something many of us were grappling with as we emerged from lockdowns and isolation to set a course to an uncertain future. Published in May of 2022, it contains 55 pieces of writing and 69 pieces of art. 

As the editors of issue xix note:

"For this edition’s theme, we decided to explore the uncharted path. We had infinite possibilities, but rested in a state of uncertainty and unknowing. In publishing this, we hope to finally tackle The Unknown: to alleviate fear, dig for deeper thought and, of course, put out a magazine that’s sure to be enjoyed."

The editorial committee for the nineteenth issue consisted of teen selectors Supriya Bolla, Kayla Doubrava, Gaby Kill, Gillian Knaebel, Stephania Kontopanos, Isobel Li, Presley Logan, Peter Mombello, Emily Natanova, Sally Panis, Isabelle Shachtman, Ariana Siddique, Neha Sridhar and Riley Strait; teen designers Supriya Bolla, Kenna Heller, Isobel Li, Ava Shropshire and Riley Strait; as well as library staff Cassidy Coles, Emma Fernhout, Cassandra Gillig, Kate McNair, Heather Miller, Tiffany Rinne, Jennifer Taylor and Mickey Willard.
