Music Monday Local Artist Spotlight

Kat King has been writing and recording her music since the age of 14, a natural result of being part of a musical family. Her ten plus years experience as a songwriter have led to several accomplished singles and EPs, culminating in the recent "Song From Spain." In this interview with King, we learn among other things how "Song From Spain" came about, the importance of sleep to her creative process and what music she's been raving about lately. Enjoy!

Conference rooms?

Let's say you've got a group of 10 - 18 people getting together to exchange porridge recipes. A meeting room that hosts up to 150 people is just too big! What about a 6 person study room? Well, there are fire codes! And, what if somebody forgets to wear their deodorant?! Don't worry! We have the solution: The conference room! Not too big. Not too small. Just right.

"I found the size of the conference room to be just right!"

(Our conference rooms are 100% free to use and free of bears.)

Best of April Fool's

Here on Johnson County Library website, we always have a great time on April Fool's Day. This past Monday we ran a whopping six April Fool's posts, and brought a little extra laughter to our coworkers, our followers on social media, and our community.

Here are a few of our favorite comments from our posts this year on social media:

  • Today’s homepage at @jocolibrary does not disappoint, and now I’m sad I missed out on the Home Delivery Via Dragon Service!

  • Battin' 1000 today, library folks!
  • I died and then remembered it's April 1st!
  • JoCo Librarians are killing it today!
  • NOW THAT IS REALLY FUNNY! Bravo, JCL! #AprilFools #NicelyPlayed
  • I hate this holiday... I believed for a hot second.
