The celebrations for the 2023 Lunar New Year begin on Sunday, Jan. 22. Typically called Chinese New Year in Western Countries , the Lunar New Year is also known as ChūnJié (春节) in China, in Vietnam it is called Tết nguyên Đán, and Seollal (설날) in South Korea, Indonesians know it as Imlek and Tsagaan Sar (Цагаан сар) in Mongolia. The Tibetan New Year is known as Losar (ལོ་གསར་).
