Welcome to Johnson County Library’s new website! In this blog post and video, we’ll highlight some of the new features, pages and functionalities of our new website.
Clean, clear and easily accessible, our new website features a site-wide refreshed layout, including a new home page and navigation menu that incorporates reconfigured drop-down menus, each highlighting different key areas and library offerings.
At the very top of our homepage, you’ll find a new Hours & Locations menu that includes one-click access to location information or search by ZIP code for the nearest branch.
Our new navigation menu starts with Browse & Borrow, where you can view our library collection in new and different ways, including by format or audience. While you’re there, check out our new Adults page that features content and recommendations for adult audiences.
The eLearning & Research menu provides quick access to our eLibrary resources, as well as popular subjects like Jobs & Careers, Genealogy and News & Current Events.
Looking for a program or special event? Enjoy quick access to all our upcoming programs with the Events menu, where you can search events by location, type or find our archive of OnDemand programming, and information about popular Library events or programs like Storytimes and the Writers Conference.
In the Using the Library menu, you will find information on locations, including the MakerSpace at Central Resource Library and our featured services like elementia, the 6 by 6 Early Literacy program and HomeConnect. Need a Library card or information about services we provide for special groups? You’ll find that information here too.
Under our Get Involved menu, you will find ways to connect with us through job and volunteer opportunities, be able to sign up for our eNewsletters, or connect with the Friends of Johnson County Library and the Johnson County Library Foundation.
Finally, in our About Us menu, you will find information about our Library’s history, mission, vision and values, as well as our Library Board. You’ll also discover ways to connect with us.
On our homepage you will find featured Staff Lists and blog posts, as well as a Top Tasks menu that will give you quick access to our most popular resources and services. This includes an Events section to explore our latest events and programs.
Need a recommendation? We’ve got you covered with our Staff Picks area. Here you will find a variety of featured lists put together by our staff. Click the "More Staff Picks" button to explore all our lists and use filter menus to help narrow down recommendations.
Curious about what’s new? Browse our Recently Added section to find all the latest and greatest Library materials like books, movies and games.
The bottom half or our homepage features audience-themed sections where you will find the latest news, events and resources to help keep you informed and up to date with all the newest Library offerings.
