There are two major conferences for area writers happening in May.

The Missouri Writers Guild will be having their 2017 conference in Columbia, MO over the weekend of May 5-7. Registration is already open. Diverse speakers will present a variety of topics, and there will be numerous opportunities to share, pitch, network, and otherwise make important business connections.

A new event for authors and illustrators of children's books has recently been announced: The Rabbit hOle is working in association with the Kansas City Public Library and the Crossroads Academy to launch an annual children’s literature festival in downtown Kansas City.

Arlin Buyert, in addition to writing and publishing his own poetry, has facilitated the Arts in Prison poetry program at Lansing Prison for almost five years. Now it’s our turn to enjoy his facilitation! On Tuesday, December 20th Buyert will lead beginning poets through the process of writing a poem to be presented as a gift.
