“See You Yesterday” by Rachel Lynn Solomon is a refreshing new take on the classic time loop plot. Our protagonist, Barret Bloom, is a college freshman who just wants to turn over a fresh page at her new school after a troubled high school experience. Instead, she has a completely disastrous first day and ruins any chance at a positive reception from those around her. In dismay, she falls asleep… only to wake up again to the exact same day.

Julie Berry’s “Lovely War” is a poignant, moving take on passion, young love, and the loss of innocence. The novel begins with a conversation between the Greek gods in an effort to answer why Love is always drawn to war, but quickly spirals into the tale of Hazel and James, two teenagers in a time of chaos.

This book is so sweet. I love how the main character’s perspective changes
throughout the book, and she’s got an amazing attitude. The characters are
great, the writing is great, everything is great!

This book follows main character Caymen Meyers, who works in her family’s
porcelain doll shop. All her life she’s observed the rich who walk in the
shop’s door, looking for an expensive doll. And if she’s learned anything, it’s
that the rich tend to have a short attention span.

I loved this book so much! Picture Twilight, but replace vampires with
werewolves. And I know that can sound kind of lame, because when you
think of werewolves you think of the general stereotypes, but Shiver really
puts a good twist on it.

Shara Wheeler was perfect in every way. She was smart, kind, beautiful, athletic, wealthy.
Shara Wheeler was perfect. Until she went missing after prom. She left no trace when she
disappeared, no obvious answer. Just a series of notes on pretty pink stationary. Notes
addressed to the only three people she ever kissed: Smith, the star of the football team, Rory, a
stoner and musician, and Chloe, the only outed bisexual that goes to their catholic high school.
The story follows this unlikely bunch teaming up to discover Shara’s whereabouts. Along the

Crush is about a boy named Jorge Ruiz who has middle school life under control. At
least until he runs into a possible crush on a theatre girl, Jazmine. He has to figure out a way to
ask her to the athletics ball without everyone noticing since Jorge hates gossip. I really enjoyed
this book because it was funny and exciting. My favorite part is when Jorge helps the drama
club move boxes and they get pizza. I would recommend this book to 5th, 6th, or 7th graders.

Now, it’s the summer before her last year of highschool, and suddenly her
dad wants to reconnect with her. But Liv is a different person than she used
to be. She never mentions her dad, and tries her best not to think of him.
Now Liv is taking a trip to Greece to see him. But even in beautiful Santorini,

This book is truly amazing. The Sun Is Also a Star is written from two
different perspectives; Natasha and Daniel. Natasha is less of a dreamer,
more of a realistic thinker. She’s just trying to keep her family from being
suddenly deported to Jamaica. Daniel, on the other hand, is a poet of all
that’s good in life. He’s been trying to live up to his parents expectations his
whole life.
