Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé is SO GOOD. It gives off some Gossip Girl vibes, but itis so much more elevated and extremely intense. I really enjoyed this book because it is dark and mysterious while also being funny and adventurous. It is definitely a unique read and I have never read anything even remotely close to it. It is packed with so many little plots, twists, turns, and epiphanies that I read the whole thing in two days or less. A 100% must-read novel!!

Normal People follows the story of Connell and Marianne, who in high school were total opposites to the outside world, but secretly the same people. As they grow up, they simply can’t stay away from each other. Now for me, this is one of my favorite romance ‘tropes’. The ‘We hate that we love each other but can’t stay away from each other enough’. If you also like that, I 100% recommend this book.

Becca is a new girl in high school which is never easy. Luckily, the popular girls take her in and while they expect some things of her that she isn’t quite comfortable with, she goes along with it. Until it turns out there’s a reason the girls run this high school, and it’s not pleasant. Squad is a story that talks about the struggles of being out of place. It shows how conforming isn’t always the best idea and can lead to issues. It addresses themes such as patriarchal issues, LGBTQ+ representation, being different, and not being complacent. I rate Squad 4 out of 5 stars.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson is an incredible young adult mystery novel. The story follows Pippa Fitz-Amobi through her senior capstone project and her eventful uncovering of the so-called ‘solved disappearance’ of Andie Bell, a 17-year old girl, who was only one year younger than Pip herself. After a while of searching Pip reveals some secrets and winds up leading her own investigation, but her actions come with consequences.
