Important Voting Dates:

Wednesday, Oct. 13: Advance voting by mail begins
Saturday, Oct. 23: Advance voting in person begins
Tuesday, Oct. 26: Advance ballot application (vote by mail) deadline at 5 p.m.

  • KS Votes also has an online application option that is submitted via a form.

Advance Vote by Mail Info:

Voters can return their voted mail-in ballot one of four ways:

  1. By mail: Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Election Day and received by the Friday after Election Day. Postage is required.
  2. To any advance voting location: Ballots can be returned to any advance voting location during voting hours. Election workers will direct you to the ballot bag inside the location. Postage is NOT required.
  3. To any Election Day polling location: Ballots can be returned to any Election Day polling location during voting hours. Election workers will direct you to the ballot bag inside the location. Postage is NOT required.
  4. To any ballot drop box: Ballot drop boxes are available 24/7 beginning 20 days before an election. The boxes close at 7 p.m. on Election Day. Postage is NOT required. Drop boxes are located at:

Advance Vote in Person

Advance Voting for the November local election will be available at eight locations beginning on Saturday, October 23. Voters can go to the Advance Voting location of their choice. A full list of advance voting locations and hours is available via the Johnson County Election Office.

Voting In Person on Election Day

Voters must vote at their assigned polling place on Election Day - find it with the sample ballot and polling place locator.
