Hello Throwback Thursday!

It's an out-of-this-world Throwback Thursday! This week marks the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing. On July 16, 1969, Apollo 11 was launched, and it returned to Earth 8 days later on July 24, splashing down in the Pacific Ocean. Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin set foot on the moon while Michael Collins orbited the moon in solitude.

We're celebrating our Summer Reading theme A Universe of Stories with an astronaut visit of our own: Mike Massimino! In 2002 and 2009, he took part in four space walks over the course of two missions to service the Hubble Telescope.
