Constructing Truth
a collection of memories
a remembrance of historical
objects and events
and varying interpretations of
subjective vs. objective truths
truth lies within
the lens of the viewer

On loan from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College in Leavenworth, KS, is from their Art of War – Gifts of Peace collection and is included in an exhibit of “unknown” objects on view at Central Resource Library this fall. Donated by international students attending the College, these objects are free of provenance – meaning the origin and history of the objects remain unknown. Without the constraint of historical provenance, viewers of these “unknown” objects have the ability to create their own story or “truth,” influenced by personal memories, perspectives and experiences.

Please join us as we create new stories and truths for these “unknown” objects and host additional programs to explore Constructing Truth »
