Every Thursday in June, ¡Adelante! Speak! offers an opportunity for Latino children to practice Spanish in a fun and engaging way. Through a variety of designed activities, ¡Adelante! Speak! helps English speakers to learn the language, too. Participants will learn basic phrases and conversation and develop vocabulary. Music, too!

You can rampage the city as a giant lizard in King of Tokyo, embark on a cross-country train trek in Ticket to Ride or save the world from deadly outbreaks in Pandemic. The MakerSpace Passport Program is a great way to learn about Maker ideas, tools and skills. Each week a new project is presented by our Library Makers and Youth Services team. Participants can complete a series of different weekly projects using a variety of materials and methods. This is an open, walk-in program: you come in, make something with us, and take home something awesome. Pick up a Summer MakerSpace Passport your first time, and get it stamped after your workshops. Tailoring, sewing and stitchery are handcrafts experiencing a Maker renaissance. You can learn basic skills to repair and customize your clothing. This session includes instruction in simple processes like sewing on a button, patching a hole or adding a pocket. We provide patches and equipment, you bring in that torn shirt. Presented by textile expert Whitney Manney, and the MakerSpace crew is on hand to assist.
