Micro:bit is a super easy-to-use, tiny and powerful micro-controller. In this workshop you will learn to code a simple program, transfer it to the micro:bit and see the result. Session participants get to keep their micro:bit to take home and code on their own! Supplies provided.

The Black & Veatch MakerSpace at Johnson County Library is your exploratorium of technologic contraptions. There’s a lot to learn, so get started at MakerSpace Beginners Night. We’ll introduce 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machining, design software and electronics. Once you are introduced, you can come back and get to know MakerSpace better!

If you have never used a sewing machine, or just want to brush up your skills, this is the perfect workshop to develop / refresh basic machine sewing knowledge. Participants will learn to sew a seam, hem and sew a button hole using a modern sewing machine. Bonus: the machine is available for use after the class session, anytime the MakerSpace is open. BYOM: Bring Your Own Machine if you’d like to learn how to use it.
