Books have been used for centuries to record and pass on information. They also allow us to enjoy worlds beyond our reach through the imaginative words of others. This program is for Girl Scout Cadettes working on their Book Artist Badge. We will explore the art of bookbinding, and each participant will create a book with end-papers as well as an accordion book using scrapbooking elements. Grounded in best practices and current research, this session helps connect the dots that link brain activity, motor and sensory development, movement, and early learning. Movement experts from Johnson County Park & Recreation District will lead 45 minutes of activities, exercises and games. Best for ages 3-5.

You’ll hear expert presentations and demonstrations and learn about related activities. Librarians will provide subject resources for your family to further explore each topic. Ages 8-18 only, please. Parents are invited to explore the rest of the Library during this independent learning experience.
