Grounded in best practices and current research, this session helps connect the dots that link brain activity, motor and sensory development, movement, and early learning. Movement experts from Johnson County Park & Recreation District will lead 45 minutes of activities, exercises and games. Best for ages 3-5.

You’ll hear expert presentations and demonstrations and learn about related activities. Librarians will provide subject resources for your family to further explore each topic. Your mind might be locked up studying for exams. We’re providing teens with a space to study, snack and relax during finals week. The study rooms are reserved if you need a quiet space. We can help you access Brainfuse if you need last-minute help. Light refreshments available to nibble on. If you need a study break, pop some bubble wrap, build with Legos or Magna-tiles or just listen to some music for awhile. The Library is here to help you recharge for test-taking.

Let’s read for fun! Club kids get together to talk about a new book, make new friends, enjoy snacks and explore fresh ideas. Bonus fun: build your own home library. Participants will get a free book while supplies last. Keep it if you like, give it to a friend and invite them to our Club, or return it for other Club kids to enjoy. Join a poet and an illustrator in conversation about the melding of their crafts. K.W. Peery and Bruce McLain met at a poetry reading, formed a friendship and developed a strong working relationship. McLain has illustrated four of Peery’s poetry collections. You’ll hear about how they develop their individual crafts and how they’ve learned to work together to create cohesive work.
