Race -- Does It Matter?

Feature image.

The president of the United States is African-American. Does this mean that race, as a topic of discussion, is obsolete in this country?

The Johnson County Library will celebrate Black History Month with an exhibition of teen artwork, poetry and prose which explores the subject of race and its relevence in this day and age. The exhibition will be highlighted by an artist's reception at the Cedar Roe Library on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, from 2-4 p.m.

The exhibition is open to children and teens ages 11-18. Submissions can be turned in to any Library Youth Services desk, no later than Feb. 1, 2010. Art submissions should be no larger than 9" x 12" and should be labeled on the back with the artist's name and phone number.
