We had a great turnout for our third program in the Focus on Johnson County series! Tanya Hadley, Lougene Marsh and Deborah Collins introduced the audience to county health services and the challenges they are facing in the economic downturn. Mental health services alone had an increase in daytime crisis contacts of over 20% between 2007 and 2008. This year those numbers are projected to increase again, so you can imagine the strain these departments are under with a hiring freeze in effect.
 
This Thursday, we will have our fourth and final program in the series, highlighting the county's efforts to promote sustainability in facilities design and management. Hope to see you there!
