Caring Conversations workbooks, designed to help people discuss and document healthcare decisions, will be available

National Healthcare Decisions Day
Friday, April 16, 1:00 P.M.
Central Resource Library, Gallery area

handsApril 16, 2010 is National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD), a nationwide event which highlights the importance of advance healthcare decision-making. NHDD organizers are encouraging organizations and individuals throughout the country to help raise awareness of advance care planning on this special day—and throughout the year.

Johnson County Library and Saint Luke’s Hospital will be observing this day with an event at the Central Resource Library on Friday, April 16, 2010 from 1 – 5 p.m.  Saint Luke's Health System Staff as well as legal and financial experts will be on hand to answer end-of-life questions, help with learning more about the uses of the Durable Medical Power of Attorney and Advance Directives, explain how families facing difficult healthcare decisions can get help, and assist with the completion of Advance Directives for those who would like to do so.
