Some downloads are MP3 (.mp3).

Some downloads are DRM-restricted Windows Media Audio files (.wma).
- Not compatible with iPod or Microsoft Zune
- Compatible with most DRM-enabled players

Overdrive
Most audiobooks in the Overdrive collection are now compatible with iPod and all other MP3 players – with a quick upgrade to OverDrive Media Console v3.2!
Check by each title for compatibility.

It allows for the easy use of music, videos, and other media.

Some downloadable audiobooks in the Overdrive collection and the Recorded Books/NetLibrary collection are compatible with Apple iPod. Just look for audiobooks that are MP3 format, and they will play on any MP3 player, iPod or Microsoft Zune.
Thinking about purchasing a new portable audio player that will play ALL audiobooks the Library has available? Some recommended features include:
- Able to play secure or protected Windows Media Audio files
- Offers an [On/Off] resume, pause/resume functionality, or true bookmarking feature
- Has a minimum of 512 MB of storage; downloadable audiobooks range from anywhere from 8 MB (45 minutes listening time) to 520 MB (37 hours listening time) in size
- Windows Media Plays for Sure device
- Windows 2000, XP or Vista compatible
- Compatible with Windows Media Player version 9 or higher
