So many people have been visiting the Johnson County Library this year, that we are on track to come really close to a record-breaking 3 million visitors in 2009--that's equal to the all the annual international visitors to the Taj Mahal.

Fishing for More than Great Books
Located just steps away from Edgerton City Lake, the Edgerton Library provides more than just books for summer fun—they also loan fishing poles. The Edgerton Tackle Loaner Program started on March, 20, 2002 and is hosted by the Edgerton Library and coordinated by Cops n Bobbers. Bluegill and large mouth bass—two more reasons to visit your library before the weather turns cool.
Drive up for Books and a Treat
Blue Valley Library provides drive through service--for humans and canines. Humans are welcome to pick up their holds and check out items, and furry friends who are along for the ride are treated to dog biscuits. Pack up your furry friend, pick up your books and a puppy treat, and head to the park!

Teen’s Winning Bookmark Earns $2K for the Library and a Trip to Wrestlemania
Herlinda Aparicio entered the Wrestlemania Reading Challenge by designing a bookmark, and her bookmark won! Her winning bookmark earned her and her family a trip to Wrestlemania 25 in Houston, Texas and $2,000 for the Library to spend on the young adult book collection.
